This policy explains what The Commonstead collects and how we use it.
What we collect
- What you give us: name, email, phone, state, property details, and utility bills you send
for analysis.
- What's collected automatically: approximate location (used to show your state's offerings),
device and usage data, and cookies for site function and analytics.
- Conversation data: recordings and transcripts of AI voice conversations, and message history
with our consultants and AI assistants (see AI Disclosure).
How we use it
- To analyze your bill and prepare savings proposals
- To contact you about products you asked about — by phone, text, or email, including AI-assisted contact you consented to
- To route you to the right consultant and licensed installer in your state
- To operate and improve this website and our services
What we share
We share your information only with: (a) the consultant handling your inquiry, (b) the licensed
partner fulfilling your product or installation, (c) service providers that power our platform
(hosting, communications, analytics, AI processing — including the TalkToTom platform), and (d)
authorities when the law requires. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Opt out of contact anytime: reply STOP to texts, unsubscribe in email, or tell any consultant.
- Ask what we hold about you, request correction, or request deletion via the
contact form. We honor applicable state privacy rights (including
California CCPA rights).
Security & retention
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to those who need it, and we keep records only as
long as needed for the purposes above or as law requires. Utility bills you send are used for your
analysis — not sold, not published.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
